Fair-Haired Dumbbell Lobby Design
The challenge…
Guerrilla Development invited Room Service Creative to design the Fair-Haired Dumbbell lobby, a building wrapped in a hand-painted mural designed by artist James Jean. The challenge was how to avoid competing, distracting, or clashing with the bold building exterior.
Our solution…
Juxtaposition. A calm, minimal, and geometric lobby design juxtaposes the busy, vibrant, and organic exterior. The result is a one-of-a-kind space to inspire creative professionals on their way to work.
The Room Service Creative team and our design and fabrication partners banded together to create a space that features…
Custom-designed furniture and signage
Plush textiles and Pendleton upholstery
A 3D Feature wall with an organic stucco-like finish and matte paint to activate the space
2D Wall-art that seamlessly converges with the feature wall and wraps around the sidewalls, dissipating as it approaches the light source
A hand-painted “forced-shadow” effect to create a sense of calm
The impact…
The building is complete and currently leasing - attracting creative businesses and agencies as intended.
Design Milk posted a photo of the space on Instagram and it received over 2.5K likes.
